Take a hike

EXPLORE the outdoors this weekend with local hikers.

Durban Ramblers Hiking Club will hike at Barn Swallows hike (Mt Moreland) on Saturday 26 November.
Meet at 1.30pm at the Barn Swallow site in Mt Moreland. Binoculars essential for viewing the swallows. Hike will be around the area, through sugarcane, grasslands and suburbs. BYO for a braai and drinks afterwards. 
R10pp donation to the conservancy. 
Grade 2 – moderate, distance is ±10km.

On Saturday, 27 November, Mountain Backpackers will hike the Howick Meander.
This will be a local day hike – Symmonds Stream Conservancy, Beacon Hill Conservancy, along the Umgeni River to Howick Falls – option to the bottom of the falls.
There are several local eateries available for food and drinks at the end of the hik.
Combined hike with other clubs. Cost is R20 for conservancies. Distance is 16km.
