Durban has the works

THERE’S an exciting line-up of events on the programme at this year’s 20th Durban Business Fair which takes place at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre and Durban Exhibition Centre from 18 to 24 September.

Apart from influential business people and celebrities sharing their expertise, the event will host an array of workshops on business development aimed at emerging companies.

The two-day conference, Business Indaba, runs from 18 to 19 September.

The conference will center around radical agrarian socio-economic transformation, radical economic transformation opportunities focusing on capital projects and localisation and industrialisation.

Speakers include Rajen Reddy, CEO of KZN Oils ; Clive Manci, founding CEO of OTEO Investments holdings; Afika Makhangala and Andile Ngcobo.

Women Economic Empowerment provides information on business support, networking and sharing of financial experience to aspire while celebrating the success of women. Londi Ngcobo, one of South Africa’s youngest ship navigators, leads the panel, “She Builds, She Leads, She Inspires,” along with human rights activist Elinor Sisulu and media mogul Connie Ferguson.

An exciting Film Making Master Class seekto empower aspiring filmmakers and will be conducted by Anant Singh, one of South Africa’s most prominent film producers who has produced more than 80 films since 1994. Also featured are Leleti Khumlo, Thembi Nyandeni and Tony Kgoroge.

The latest trends on beauty, fashion and style will be discussed at the four-day Durban Fashion Fair.

A panel hosted by Anele Mdoda on Friday, 21 September features top names within the fashion industry discussing various topics relating to the “Business of fashion” and “Building a brand in the fashion industry.”

Lindelani Mkhize, of Joyous Celebration, will host a Music Production Master Class where he will unpack the music production business.

Between 21 and 24 September, the Business Exhibition and Techzone will provide exhibitors the opportunity to gain invaluable exposure through netoworking. For the first time, the exhibition will feature a street market showcasing the attending vendors. A diverse array of celebrity chefs will demonstrate the specialty dishes.
