DURBAN Central police is appealing for help in a case of theft out of a motor vehicle they are investigating.
According to Const Zanele Khomo it is alleged that on 21 July at about 11.13am, a man parked his motor vehicle at the Engen garage in Stamford Hill, locked the vehicle using a remote and proceeded inside the shop.
“A few minutes later when he was at the till he noticed an unknown man opening his front passenger door. He ran to his vehicle shouting at the man who closed the vehicle door and ran into a getaway vehicle, a grey Volvo with false number plates parked at the garage,” said Khomo.

The man noticed his Acer laptop and Blackberry cellphone were missing.
“Police believe the man in the CCTV image can assist in solving the case. We urge motorists to properly lock their vehicles and to personally check if their vehicles are locked in order to avoid being a victim of remote jamming that is happening all over the CBD,” she said.
