Durban Girls’ College hosts girl talk

DURBAN Girls’ College will host the second, a ‘girls only’ summit, with the theme Success demands purpose from 9 to 11 August at the school in Musgrave Road.

Inspirational speakers will cover relevant issues relating to social and global pressures on young women today.

Guest speakers include Dr Candice Roberts (gynaecologist), Dr Noumsa Shezi (neurosurgeon), Refilwe Ledwaba (pilot), DJ Delta the Leo, Tim Jarvis and Dave Allen of ‘On Boys’ and Dr K van Heerden (sports psychologist).

Girls have the opportunity to discuss their challenges and explore their unique purpose in life in a series of breakaway sessions and workshops.

They will also be taught to “fight like a girl” by the self defense duo, and be entertained by Lisa Bobbert.

The registration fee of R700 per girl for all three days includes support for the three selected charities, The Jes Foord Foundation, SUBZ Pads and Panties and The Thusong Youth Centre in Alexandra Township, all of whom are sharing their stories at the summit.
