City hosts business fair

THE public is invited to visit the South Regional Business Fair from 23 to 25 June at KwaMnyandu Shopping Centre in uMlazi, to appreciate the exciting products that are locally manufactured.

Regional Business Fairs have developed over the years and are a cost effective method for small business owners and entrepreneurs to promote their products and services to a bigger market.

The fairs are the platform for the Municipality to create an enabling environment for small and big businesses to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the local and the mainstream economy of the City.

The public is encouraged to visit the fair to support businesses and explore other opportunities provided by the City.

A record number of more than 100 businesses have registered for the South Regional Business Fair, and eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede said these regional business fairs are important for township and rural-based businesses and was encouraged to see the passion and eagerness to grow displayed by small business owners.

“The interest shown by businesses is an indication that the strides made by the Municipality to grow the small business sector are reaping rewards.”

“We are committed to developing the small business sector because of its immense contribution to job creation. It is exciting that a large percentage of businesses that registered for the regional fairs were from the small business sector,” she said

This year’s fair includes innovative features that will assist entrepreneurs manage their businesses better. This is a unique environment in which businesses come together and learn from each other through networking sessions and seminars provided.

Entrance to the exhibition and Business Indaba is free.
