Drug arrest

A MAN was arrested for possession of dagga on 7 July.
According to Capt Poobalan Naidoo from Berea SAPS, following a tip-off, at around 4pm, SAPS Organised Crime Unit and Metro Police held an operation in Botanic Gardens Road.
“The premises was searched and around 6kg of dagga was found at the premises. A 34-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs,” said Naidoo.

CAPTAIN Naidoo urged residents to ensure they don’t become victims of vehicle theft.
“Park in well lit areas if possible and park as close as possible to where you are going.
When locking your vehicle make sure physically that the vehicle is locked as a precaution against remote jamming,” said Naidoo.
He urged motorists to always be aware of their surroundings.
“Also make sure you activate your alarm system when parking your vehicle.
If possible, fit a tracking device to your vehicle as it increases the rate of recovery if your vehicle is stolen,” he said.

A MAN was sentenced to nine months imprisonment in a Durban court.
The case of assault and robbery was investigated by Det/Const Mncwango.
